You can access the following types of therapy with me:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT imitates a scientific approach by testing and refining different evidence based solutions. CBT is made up of lots of different 'waves', ideas and therapies, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness Based CBT (m-CBT) so can be tailored to suit your needs and area you wish to focus on.

Traditional CBT is useful for reducing ‘symptoms’ of mental health problems such as anxiety and PTSD, giving ‘tools’ to try out and use, and the other ‘waves’ like ACT, CFT and m-CBT are useful for any kind of problem you have. This can work at a ‘shallow’ level, or can delve into life-long patterns.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR uses findings in Neuroscience to help the brain process overwhelming, or traumatic events, so is useful for trauma.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps by examining how the problem gets in the way of you living what is important to you. ACT can help with many problems and is particularly useful to help you find what is important to you in life and be self-guided by these principles.

Humanistic or Person Centred Therapy (PCT)

PCT helps by giving space and understanding so you can find the way forward.  Many types of therapy incorporate the key principles of PCT.

PCT is useful when you want space to talk things through, without being directed too much, or focusing on your past.

Psychosynthesis

Also known as 'soul psychology', Psychosynthesis helps by understanding different parts of your mind, and bringing them together to your advantage. Although applicable to many things, this can be really useful to strengthen your personal direction and bring out traits you don’t often get to use.

Schema

Despite being based on a concept from CBT, Schema Therapy incorporates different approaches from CBT, attachment theory and Gestalt Therapy. This can be really useful for getting out of patterns that you have been stuck in for some time, or helping with childhood issues.

All the different therapy types can be a little confusing or they can all sound very appealing! Together we can talk through what you’re looking for, and decide on the most appropriate type if you’re unsure - or we can use a little from each if that works for best you.
