• The prospect of sessions might feel daunting, so here is an idea of what to expect:

    • Time to talk the problem through;

    • Agreeing on how best to support you achieve a helpful outcome;

    • Using effective resources;

    • Time to try out new strategies, or reflect on changes;

    • Periodically reviewing if sessions are giving you what you need;

    • As sessions conclude, we can complete a plan that will support you beyond sessions.

  • Sessions take place online.

    I can be flexible with appointment times. I generally aim to keep the same day/time, if possible. Sessions can be scheduled weekly or fortnightly.

    I am happy to use a video conferencing platform of your choice, though I suggest encrypted platforms that protect privacy.

    You might like to consider the following suggestions for online therapy to run smoothly:

    • find a comfortable, private place where you will not be disturbed;

    • ensure you have a good phone signal or WIFI connection;

    • access to a deceive which has a clear camera and a good speaker/microphone, use headphones, if necessary;

    • check that your device is charged or is near a charger, if needed;

    • have comforts to hand, such as tissues or a drink;

    • set a reminder for sessions so as not to miss a session;

    • let me know of any other needs you may have to help sessions run smoothly.

  • The number of sessions will depend on your goal. With some people, as few as 1 has been effective. Other people may find anything from 6 to 20 beneficial.

    There are recommendations for session numbers, depending on what your problem is. However, ultimately, the aim is to help you find solutions to problems in the time you need.

  • Online one to one sessions are £80. I ask this to be paid in advance of the appointment, by bank transfer or PayPal.

    In order to provide fair access to therapy, I have a number of low-cost sessions available. Please contact me to discuss this.

  • Yes - you may also be able to access sessions with me through your workplace or insurance. I am a network therapist with various providers.

  • Yes - I am a big fan of powerful ‘single session’ therapy sessions. I have offered these in various services. Be it deciding next steps, needing a professional opinion, or just some head space, I can help you get the most out of a one hour session.

  • As all of my work is online, I have provided therapy to a number of people outside of the UK.

    • CBT and EMDR draw on fairly global concepts and are widely used treatments, so can be adapted or applied in the right way with great outcomes;

    • I have the relevant provisions to provide therapy (i.e. accreditations, qualifications, DBS checks, insurance);

    • I have a flexible schedule that allows me to take into account time differences.
